I'd have loved a little more time to vote. Sorry I wasn't able to get up to speed on everything and didn't get to vot on all issue and for members I'd have liked to join.

That's fine. Your advice and comments on the voting process is important anyway.

Thanks to @awemany for the new voting system and to @solex for managing the vote.

I'm a bit surprised how few members casted their vote even with multiple important BUIPs we had this time.

How can we improve this in the future?
Maybe we need better communication channels in order to mobilize the members?
Or is it just a process of elimination of the inactive ones until the majority of the remaining members are the active ones?

To be fair, 21/49 shows a pretty healthy interest in BU's progress. It does seem that a 75% turnout is a bridge too far. We must also be grateful for the interest shown by those who still support our initiative to scale Bitcoin on-chain.

I know a few members were late with their btc addresses. We will also get some more user-friendly changes to voting system for next time, though it certainly performed well this time.

In contrast to a voting right by birth (e.g. with citizenship) where you could argue that nobody asked them, BU members chose to be members in order to have a say. There is no other point in becoming a member, isn't there?

That said I think 21 out of 49 is a low number. Maybe it is better then in the past but still not what I would expect from people who chose to become members.

By the way I count 53 members on the homepage.

Not that it would change much but where does the difference 49 vs 53 come from?

Well, I agree that we might expect more but, in this case, it doesn't work out that way.
4 expired since that list was updated. I think we need to make the expiry dates visible on the site (12 months after joining or last vote). edit: raised a GH issue for that

I too wish voting lasted a little longer. I just came on today to vote, didn't have the time exactly right in my head as I'm pretty busy. But I feel like +7 days wouldn't hurt anyone and would get more than 1 page of votes in. I second @AdrianX

@rezzme the length of the voting period is defined in the AOC as follow:
"Voting shall be open for a minimum 48 hour period and a maximum of 5 days."

To extend a vote to 7 days we would need to change the AOC first.
