Hello all,

I've been riding the waves in the crypto market for some time now investing in coins since 2016 and although i know right now is not the greatest time for miners out there, I've decided to invest regardless in a very small play about mining rig (if you can call it a rig...)

I have:
  • - ASRock H110 BTC+ motherboard
  • - A cheapy Intel G3900 CPU as i wont be using this to mine anything.
  • - Aorus RX580 8GB card (which i got for 120 pounds and is being delivered shortly) and plan on getting another 4 in the near future.
  • I plan on using windows 10 to mine however could potentially be swayed into using linux if it has a big difference in performance and efficiency?

Until now i've been playing about with my gaming rig which has an i7700k and a ROG GTX 1060 6GB card which i managed to clock to run at 85 watts outputting 25Sol/s on Beamv2, which i imagine is equivilant to 25MH/s on others?

Ignoring energy costs and ROI in product purchases to build the rig, has anyone on here been using the RX580 to mine and if so what performance to watt ratios have been achieved? and what coins? if you still have a 580 what do you mine, do you use NiceHash to calculate it for you and switch to the most profitable?

Also are there any opinions or thoughts on what Bios mods are advised for a RX580 rig?

Thanks for your advice and replies in advance!
