i woke up today and noticed coinbase adding litecoin to their website

great news!

i was going to purchase 1, but i'm not sure how to send it offline after purchasing litecoin,

i was also going to buy 1 ether but im not sure how to send it offline,

i don't trust coinbase enough to keep my coins on their website,

is anyone into ether or litecoin?

Go to whatever lengths you must to get the coins off exchange.

Both the options you mention are have established wallets I'd instead them back them up and send funds to keys you control.

There a 3 hardware wallets that I've read about that support those alts.

I don't use them but they sound like a great way to manage private keys.

I'm not onto altcoins any more. Almost all my alts were stolen because I left them on an exchange.

You must know! I went in on Dash (then darkcoin) at $0.85 just took a blind guess - sold a bunch at $10 on the first bubble (I loved the anonymity talk) the irony is that 1-3% diversification would be 30-40% of my portfolio now, the majority would be Dash 50% of the alts I invested in are now duds.

I've been scammed a few times and lost BTC is stupid ways and each time I lost BTC I went out and replaced it as I did not want to regret the loss. even the first time I transacted I though that was stupid - don't spend this it's too valuable.

When I lost my alt portfolio I did not feel the same way, I doubled down on bitcoin.
