Understanding bitcoin

I know nothing about bitcoin but would like to buy small amount with Coinbase wallet.
Just to experiment a little. What would be some simple steps to do this.
I guess that is a cold wallet stored on computer and safe.
Need to start very simple. Would appreciate some advice.

I signed up with coinbase wallet and my email and password work OK.
I just got the 2 deposits from my OMB and now I want to sign in and it wants my 2 step verification ending in no.79. I don't know how to give coinbase the 2 deposits. I guess I need a code to sign in.

My computer I think was at fault why the code wouldn't work .Now that is good but I still have a problem I need to solve.
I put my driver license in the front & the back then they also want a photo of me .I took about 10 of them and it alwas says retake. What is going on ?
