Alexey Pertsev, the creator of Tornado Cash, will be incarcerated for at least three more months. The Netherlands court reached this conclusion after concluding that releasing Pertsev may increase the likelihood of him fleeing. During the hearing on Tuesday, Dutch public prosecutor Martine Boerlage made accusations of money-laundering for the first time.

Following allegations made against Tornado Cash by the US Treasury, Pertsev was apprehended and imprisoned in August. The blockchain encouraged money laundering in digital assets, according to the Treasury. They also allegedly assisted North Korean hackers and stole money to fund their nuclear program.

What's Going on with Alexey Pertsev
According to the Dutch prosecutor, money laundering is taking place in this case. She hasn't commented on anything besides a press statement thus yet. She is accusing Pertsev, nevertheless, of aiding shady money transfers on Tornado Cash. Boerlage further denied Tornado Cash's purported decentralization. She questions Pertsev's claim that he is powerless over his own platform. She believes that since Pertsev and Tornado Storm own so many tokens, they easily have more votes than anybody else.

Keith Cheng, the attorney for Pertsev, expressed his disgust in a press conference outside of court. He expressed his displeasure with the court's decision. “We attempted to clarify the defense’s positions as plainly as possible. However, it is clear that the judges are not familiar with the subject as they should be.”

The first meeting has currently been moved to February 20, 2023. Chang repeated his view that Pertsev and Tornado Cash are the targets of state bias. He'll do the necessary research and planning in time for the impending court hearing. Pertsev stated that he would be open to any bail conditions. He only desired attending church with his family. Sadly, the court turned down his motion. There is a lot of controversy about this arrest. In addition to online, the community is demonstrating in Amsterdam. Additionally using Twitter, Edward Snowden expressed his viewpoint. He claimed that despite defrauding billions of dollars, large-scale fraudsters like SBF are still at large. An individual who creates privacy tools for the public is instead taken into custody. The only distinction is that one is a significant donor

Final Thoughts
We don't detain bank founders for financial crimes committed inside the bank. But for the same reason, we detain the creator of a cryptocurrency network. That seems somewhat unjust. I'm hoping the court can make a wise decision in this matter.
