Last night in Sydney, we experienced an outage, as someone accidentally cut a power cable, disrupting services in the network. The outage lasted for more than three hours. It affected me, because the outage happened while the BTC price was in its last downtrend before bouncing.
For other people, it seems that banking services were affected by the outage, with reports of bills not going through, and customers not being able to pay for goods and services.
