Karatbars, I could use some help on this

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum and hope that you guys can give me some advice on a topic that I’ve been dealing with a lot recently.

One of my closest friends has been involved in crypto and bitcoin for a while. He often tries to convince me to also invest in digital currencies, since he had made some money with reasonable investments in the past.

I started to look around and tried to become familiar with how this all works. As a kind of hesitant person when it comes to investments, I came across Karatbars, who say they are backing up their coins with physical gold reserves. Looked like a good opportunity to me, so I got everything set up quite quickly.

However, my friend then pointed out that recently their coin value significantly dropped, and that there had been claims saying it was a fraud system. I then did some research and it turns out the person that was in charge for their ICO seems to have been a guy called Marvin Steinberg. He’s a young looking business guy that seems to have done a whole bunch of ICO’s in the past.

What I am mostly concerned about (and this is the reason I created an account here) is what I found on a website called marvinsteinberg.travel.blog. First of all, it doesn’t seem like a travel blog obviously, but what the website claims seems concerning. I have no clue what is true at this point, which is why I hoped you guys maybe have any advice for me regarding how to deal with this. All I could manage to find out was that the Steinberg guy was in fact the head of CPI technologies, and that this company appears to have been responsible for the smarttrade coin (smarttradeico.io) as well as the eroiy.io ICO. The eroiy one is a bit more interesting in my opinion, because not only is CPI technologies mentioned in the whitepaper on the website, but it also shows a person named Luca Kögel who is an employee of Steinberg.

None of the sources I managed to dig out was reputable enough for me to convince me so far, but the list of possible scenarios here might be long. In a video with almost no views on YT, the Karatbars CEO says they are the victims of a smear campaign, but don’t know who it is:
So my question is: Have you had any experiences with currencies this guy was dealing with? Do you think Karatbars is fucking up here, or do you think it might actually be this Marvin Steinberg guy scamming the companies he’s been working with by keeping big amounts of coins for himself? Does anyone (maybe the Germans here?) have any recent footage of him or anybody else dealing with the topic? And what do you think about those statements that are made on this ‘travel blog: https://marvinsteinberg.travel.blog/’?

I hope this post reaches the right people, as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of posts dealing with this so far. Maybe you can give me some insights on what is really going on here.
