Is coronavirus pushing us into a VR future?

With Covid-19 spreading like wildfire, and no indication that it will be slowing down any time soon, many countries have made the decision to cancel large public gatherings and events in an attempt to slow down infection rates. This has people looking to technology for the solution. VR could pick up where real-world social gathering left off.

Do you think VR is the solution?

Yes and no. One's immune system needs exposure to multiple potential pathogens to stay fit and work effectively. If you don't expose for common pathogens you will be susceptible to illness from even the most benign.

Virtual isolation can make your immune system weaker. Kids don't have oral infatuations because it makes them sick nor do they this to freak out adults, they do this because of evolution, and their immune system develops as a result.

Buying toilet paper won't protect anyone nor will living in a sterile environment where you only make virtual contact.

I do hope these preventive measures are temporary, and we all will be in safe soon. And in my opinion, it is better to stay away from each other as scientists haven't researched this virus completely.

I don’t think the VR is a solution, It's just that the situation forces us to interact with others through the Internet. In addition, many things have been paralyzed by the pandemic and it makes many things difficult in terms of quality of life. As for meetings and public events, many people are joining together to create a pleasant atmosphere from their homes. An example of this was in Europe where many musicians from their homes offered concerts using their musical instruments.

VR I think would cause many people to become more stressed or even more aggressive. It’s my opinion.

@Hocapert, Completely agree with you. I think this pandemic wil make people try to work online since it's better for those who work in offices. But as much as try with VR I don't think so, people need others to feel like they are part of something, they need the hugs, the hand shakes, the screams of victory while playing, and that can't be provide with VR

There was an immersion in the world of virtual reality even before we began to sit at home due to the coronavirus. D, now there is more work in the computer and training by video communication, but everything went towards this.
