My 67 year old uncle was approached online by a guy called “Gie Gie”, who claimed to be a senior financial advisor. Gie Gie told him about the crypto trading platform, Invest Digital FX, located at https://investdigitalfx.com. Under Gie Gie's guidance, my uncle traded crypto asset on the platform and was led to believe he was making a profit from trading. But when he attempted to withdraw funds from the platform, he was told he needed to pay a fee for commissions. However, after paying the fee, my uncle did not receive any money but was instead instructed to pay a “card fee” to activate and send the funds. That’s when he reached out to me since I am more tech savvy to confirm whether the deal was right. I immediately recognized it as a scam and told him to not make the said payment. I confronted Gie Gie and made it clear that he wasn’t receiving any more funds so the platform communicated that they needed to open an account at a bank they recommend, which they said their other investors used to receive their profits.
