Recently I almost got burnt by a fautly plugin (Blockonomics) for my Wordpress blog. It lets me accept bitcoin payments directly to my Coinbase wallet.
Last night I noticed the following error:
Bitcoin wallet error 408
After some research, it turns out the error is caused by a bug that drops the database connection which happens if your server is too slow or overwhelmed by traffic.
But the worst part is that the bug leaks your account logins.
If you're using any of these wallets then it will even leak your password:
- Coinbase (coinbase.com),
- Blockhain (blockchain.com),
- Market Coin Exchange (mcxchange.co)
- Mycelium (mycelium.com)
I've had to uninstall the plugin, maybe I should even report it as a scam since I could have lost all the coins in my account.
